The 12th-century composer Hildegard Von Bingen was a botanist and (some historians say) an epileptic given to trances and visions that were ruled by Pope Eugene III to be divinely inspired. The Pioneers Go East Collective has set out to replicate her exaltations of religious fervor in an hour-long immersive performance and installation piece that runs for a dozen performances in December.
