Human Feel

Local avant-jazz institution Human Feel began an indefinite hiatus in 1996, with each member quickly establishing himself as a solo VIP. But the band—reedists Andrew D'Angelo and Chris Speed, guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel and drummer Jim Black—returned in ’07 with the impressive Galore, which revived the group's patented blend of airy melody, breakbeat-inspired groove, fluttering minimalism and prog-rock muscle. You won't find the quartet convening much these days, so don't sleep on tonight's downtown gig, featuring pieces from a brand-new Human Feel album.
