Jesse Stacken Quartet + Vinnie Sperrazza Trio

Pianist Jesse Stacken supports his latest disc, 2014's Helleborus, which features quartet interpretations of solo pieces he composed as part of a yearlong weekly writing jag in 2012–13. Stacken's band (on at 9:30pm) approaches his playfully knotty postbop themes with sprightly engagement. Sharing the bill is a trio (on at 8pm) led by drummer-composer Vinnie Sperrazza.
