If you've never seen this fabled Aussie outfit, then you're in for a treat. As TONY discovered at this year's SXSW fest, Cave & co. have lost none of their fire and drama playing live. What's more, the band's new album, Push the Sky Away, shows that Cave's writing is every bit as intense as it’s ever been, from the dark humor of its title track (an apparent ode to Hannah Montana) to such soul-stealingly lovely lines as “I watch your hands like butterflies landing” (“Wide Lovely Eyes”). You have three chances to catch the band in NYC this week. Don't waste 'em! Subtly incisive local songsmith Sharon Van Etten opens.
