SOAK is the stage name of Irish singer-songwriter Bridie Monds-Watson, an uncommonly skilled teenager signed to tastemaking U.K. label Rough Trade. The pared-down arrangements sound a bit like the xx gone folk, while her keen melodic sense and anthemic choruses echo Lorde.
