Set aside your supergroup cynicism for the moment, at least long enough to check out the Empty Hearts, a well-pedigreed quartet playing muscular, hook-filled rock & roll in a late-’70s/early-’80s vein. Given that the group includes Blondie drummer Clem Burke, Cars guitarist Elliot Easton, Romantics vocalist Wally Palmar and bassist Andy Babiuk of Stones revivalists Chesterfield Kings, it's no wonder the songs on the Hearts' recent self-titled debut sound so convincing.
