The Evolving Series

On July 21, the venerable LES avant-jazz series, brought to you by the presenters of the annual Vision Festival, hosts a trio led by pianist Chris Forbes and two collective groups (PERIOD and the quartet of trumpeter Dave Ballou, saxist Petr Cancura, cellist Chris Hoffman and drummer Harris Eisenstadt), at 7:30, 8:45 and 10pm, respectively. On July 28, in the same respective time slots, the series welcomes bands led by bassist John Hébert and drummer Juan Pablo Carletti, as well as a potentially incendiary trio with trumpeter Nate Wooley, saxist Ingrid Laubrock and drummer Chris Corsano, in the same respective time slots.
