Excuse us, is it 1967? Sure sounds like it when you're digging on the way-fuzzed psych-rock jams of San Francisco's Wooden Shjips. Listen a bit further, though, and you'll notice drone and noise influences that sound more like today. Here the band supports an exceedingly groovy new Thrill Jockey set, Back to Land, with help from Chicago's Cave, which specializes in a krautrocky retro throb.
