Legendary chocolatier Jacques Torres’s most irresistible creation yet is this 8,000-square-foot factory that serves as the Manhattan hub for the pastry chef’s chocolate empire. The space features a cocoa-pod–shaped café overlooking the candy-making facilities, so visitors can sip hot chocolate and watch as cocoa beans are transformed into chocolate bars. A terra-cotta statue of the Aztec cocoa god Quetzalcoatl greets customers as they enter. Chances are, you’ll be praying to the deity for mercy when you overdo it yet again.
