Dosas are the draw at this spacious, no-frills cafeteria in the Hindu Temple Society of North America. A mostly Indian crowd congregates here, with many kids in tow, for a carb (and mango lassi) fix. Children will have fun tearing off pieces of the crackling, potato-filled Pondicherry dosa; no need to disclose that the dahi vada—mushy doughnuts topped with yogurt—are made of lentils. Afterward, pop into the temple shop, where tots can amuse themselves with $2 Indian comic books.
