Getting anything delivered, anytime is New York’s signature move. And though 2020 was rough (understatement of the millennium), it did lead to some progress in New York’s delivery scene. Particularly, for alcohol imbibers. After some legal tiffs, it’s finally fully legal for New Yorkers to get their wine, beer, soju, sake and cocktails delivered—assuming you’re 21 years of age and ordering food to go with it, which, obviously, you are. Cheers to these amazing restaurants that offer beverages to pair with their food menu for at-home happy hour and beyond.

1. Marathi

This trendy Tribeca Greek bistro offers an extensive dinner menu with Cretan and internationally inspired flair—think snails with caramelized onions, Greek-style maki starring tempura shrimp plus salmon and tuna wrapped in grape leaves, ramen-style Greek chicken lemon soup, branzino ala plancha and much more. To drink, over a dozen signature cocktails are delivered, as well as a full spirits list, wine by the glass and bottle and mimosas to go with brunch orders.

2. Rubirosa

A longtime Little Italy favorite, Rubirosa is best known for its tie-dye pies, drizzled with vodka sauce and pesto for a multicolored, highly flavorful slice. To drink, go with classic cocktails to-go like an Aperol spritz or negroni, or the ever-popular strawberry Frosé.

Gather the after work squad for a happy hour at the location of your choosing, featuring Lupe’s signature chips and guac, plus an extensive tropical cocktail list. Blueberry margaritas and fresh pomegranate margaritas are a highlight, as is the pineapple mojito, pina colada or homemade rumchata.

4. Guero’s

Both traditional and more contemporary tacos are found at this Crown Heights staple. And whether you’re going for a fried chicken taco with refried beans or al pastor decked out with pineapple, you’ll want one of Guero’s signature margaritas to chase it down. Plenty of Mexican beers are also available, as are soft drinks and a kids menu if it’s family night.

5. Taste Korea 232

Order a slew of appetizers (kkochi rice cake skewers and fried mandu are always a hit) plus some of Taste Korea 232’s premium banchan (sauteed dried anchovies, trust) and host a happy hour party with all the booze to match. Beer, soju, sake and Makgeolli (creamy and lightly sparkling Korean rice wine) are all ready to be delivered.

Bunker’s limited delivery menu is actually perfect for happy hour. Opt for some starters like blue oyster mushroom seaweed tempura and smoked chicken wings, and add on house cocktails like the Hot Mez (mezcal, pineapple, cilantro, jalapeño) or a can of sake.

7. Soho Sushi

It’s always happy hour when you order from Soho Sushi, an NYU-adjacent staple. $60 gets you 10 maki rolls and there’s plenty more on the menu to choose from. Add on beer, sake and red or white wines to complete the happy hour.

Soul food is at its best at this classic Harlem spot. Many dishes are named after Black heros like the President Barack Obama (fried, smothered, baked or BBQ chicken with your choice of two sides) or the Jennifer Holliday Waffle with fried shrimp. Chase it all down with cold beers.
