    Description
This oyster bar and grocery store is the latest offering from Mark Firth and Andrew Tarlow, the team that packs ’em in at Diner, next door. Small wooden tables and benches dot the sidewalk in front and inviting plank tables fill the relaxed back dining room. In the front room, pristine white shelves are filled with organic produce and a carefully edited selection of canned goods, gourmet condiments and environmentally friendly cleaning products. Light bites, like a plate of thinly shaved serrano ham and a tangle of braised fennel, join a selection of the best oysters available each day. Sure beats Gristede’s.

Having left NYC in the late 90s, I returned recently to find Wmsburg an established and respectable (read post-trendy) Friday night destination. Out too late but still hungry for dinner, my friend and I landed at M&Co. Delectable wine list, made to order side dishes and fresh salad to eat. Knowledgable and attentive service and super-comfy neighborhood atmosphere. I couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely go back for the oysters and a whole meal.
