East Village

Owner Koji Kusakabe has spent the past 26

years as a vintage dealer, crisscrossing the country looking

for well-designed finds. Now you can view his quirky,

impeccable taste on display at this small but immaculately

organized store, tucked away on a dead-end East Village

street. Serious collectors can nab a deck of Hermès playing

cards from the 1950s ($350) or a 1920 Navajo-inspired cotton

Beacon blanket ($850), but if you’re just looking to up your

style quotient, take your pick of the selection, from a ’60s

dead-stock button-up ($40) to a ’60s tie clip ($30). In

addition to Kusakabe’s vintage stash, which is displayed in

old wooden crates, you’ll find new items: Japanese-designed

American workwear from Post O’Alls ($200–$325) and jewelry

constructed with delicate strands of silver and gold by Any New York ($90–$365).
