Don’t let the unassuming storefront fool you: Veteran optician Michael Stoff’s smallish shop has been framing faces on the Slope for more than 17 years, and his informative (if at times brusque) staff won’t rest until you’ve found the perfect pair. The walls and glass cases are jam-packed with offbeat shades from obscure European brands like Theo, Face à Face and Anne et Valentin. Prices start around $100.

this place is awesome, Ive been looking for glasses for awhile, when I see an interesting place I always stop in thinking my glasses search will be over, but always wind up disappointed. Browsing the large stock, and feeling overwhelmed, Im approached by a ny accented heavily tattooed guy who looks more like a rockstar then someone behind a counter at an eyeglasses store..... I tell him that Ive been looking forever, he excuses himself with a bit of an aire of cockiness, and comes back with a pair, tells me not to look in the mirror, and just show him, I comply, he smiles takes me over to the mirror and it was a match made in heaven, I didnt want to see anything else and am so happy I met this eyeglass guru...Richie tou really are amazing, I get so many compliments and am so happy with my glasses!!!! you Rock!!!!! Having just moved into the neighborhood and feeling overwhelmed by the million eyeglass stores around, I stumbled into this place, because the glasses in the window were like something out of a trendy store in the village. Walking up to the counter it was like I died and went to heaven, tons of great frames!!!! All I needed was a nosepad for my Mikli frames, they did the repair, and didn't charge me, I looked at a few pairs and found the one I just had to have, a few days later, I picked em up in the morning, and by that night I had at least 15 compliments! this is the spot for me!
