Stylist Mary Peragine's first independent venture, Fiber Hair Spa, is an airy, Asian-inflected space that sits just above bustling Lexington Avenue. Beyond a menu of basic cuts (women, $85 and up; men, $40 and up) and color (single process starts at $70), Peragine and her team turn out excellent party hair (blowouts start at $45) and offer L'Oréal scalp prescriptions ($50 and up), tailored to address everything from color balancing to dandruff-plagued scalps. The salon also offers the Marcia Teixeira Brazilian Keratin Treatment (starts at $450), a semi-permanent, non-damaging hair-straightening process that only takes about two hours—it's even safe for pregnant women.
