Founded in 1921, this Zurich luxury legwear company opened a second Manhattan store, on the Upper East Side, not far from its original spot in midtown. The space’s extremely elegant ambience—subtle lighting, neutral color palette and cream-colored leather upholstered walls—complements the high-end hosiery ($30–$400), which is displayed in its packaging in glass cases along the walls. Cover your gams with delicate sheer panty hose ($30) and ultra-indulgent cashmere tights ($400), or make a statement in fun, polka-dot styles with back seams ($75). You’ll also find variations such as sheer back-seamed thigh-highs ($55) and cashmere-and-wool kneesocks featuring crocheted patterns ($37). But hosiery isn’t all you’ll encounter: Fogal’s new collection of indulgent knitwear includes cashmere V-neck pullovers ($475), sleeveless cashmere-and-wool shift dresses ($500) and the pièces de résistance: chunky-knit cashmere capes with leather-lined hoods ($1,900).
