Thanks to the success of Nightwood furniture’s summer 2010 pop-up shop, owners Myriah Scruggs and Nadia Yaron have opened their first permanent location. Since 2003, the women have been using found or discarded materials to create reconstructed pieces with a modern Navajo aesthetic. The space feels like an urban barn outfitted with various shades of wood to showcase items such as a coffee table made out of tea-dyed solid oak flooring ($890), a dining-room table constructed from salvaged water-tower cedar and glass ($800), and a chair covered with vintage, embroidered fabric ($900). Since everything is handmade (and much of it custom-ordered; from $800), you’re guaranteed to score a one-of-a-kind piece for your pad.
