For her line’s debut storefront, designer Yeohlee Teng has chosen to open it not in a chic shopping neighborhood, but the heart of the Garment District. “Innovation and creativity are undeniably linked to proximity,” explains Teng. Her edgy, architectural women’s collection is housed in the same 1920s building as her label’s design headquarters. The store interior’s exposed-brick walls have been modernized with galvanized steel studs and serve as a simple background to showcase her versatile pieces, which this season take inspiration from the shape and structure of a cylinder. Items we can only dream of owning include cylindrical wool wraps with circles for armholes ($695), super-soft alpaca cardigans ($495), checkered textured knee-length skirts ($595) and multipurpose black-and-white shawls ($425).
