Pan Asian Repertory Theatre revisits this 1987 musical adapted from James A. Michener's epic novel, in which a U.S. pilot falls for a dancer in post–World War II Japan. The book is by William Luce, with a score by George Fischoff and Hy Gilbert; Tisa Chang directs a revival that emphasizes the integrity of the female characters over their exoticism.
