Burn some calories before you enter a Turkey Day food coma next week, all while helping provide meals to hungry New Yorkers (how’s that for a productive weekend?). You’ll need a bike, a lock and $15–$20 to participate in this annual race, in which participants cycle to five grocery stores to shop for Thanksgiving supplies along a 12-to-15-mile route. Registration begins at 12:30pm for a 2pm ride; once you’ve crossed the finish line, your haul will be donated to City Harvest. Linger for the 5pm after-party where awards for fastest, slowest (a.k.a. “Dead Fucking Last”), tandem, out-of-town, rookie, and most generous riders will be doled out along with good cheer and beer specials. An after-after-party follows at Red Lantern Bicycles (345 Myrtle Ave between Adelphi St and Carlton Ave, Fort Greene, Brooklyn; 8pm).
