Farmers Market

Use all that extra summer energy to tackle new recipes with only the freshest ingredients from trusted, nearby farms in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Three days a week, GrowNYC Greenmarket brings its alfresco shopping experience to Rockefeller Center. Among the offerings, expect to find fruits and juices from Red Jacket Orchards, cheddar cheese and smoked meats from Millport Dairy, and jams and pickled vegetables from Beth’s Farm Kitchen. Should your kitchen experiments go wrong, forget your troubles with Paumanok Vineyard’s wine or Orange County Distillery’s whiskey. Wed–Fri 8am–5pm. Through Aug 26.

Outdoor dining

One side effect of living in a city with brutal winters? When summer finally rolls around, we take any opportunity to be outdoors. Luckily, Rockefeller Center’s French fine dining staple Brasserie Ruhlmann (brasserieruhlmann.com) returns for the season with its outdoor German-inspired LT BierGarten. Chow down on traditional Deutschland fare like bratwurst and pretzels or a sandwich, and wash it all down with a cold, refreshing brew from the large variety of beers on tap. If you’re feeling more inspired by the Mediterranean, Limani (limaniny.com) has an outdoor café, also on the North Plaza, where diners can find refreshing, elegant Greek seafood options like grilled octopus, fresh scallops and shrimp saganaki.

Brunch is the most important meal of the weekend—so why not go all-out and treat yourself to a decadent daytime feast and million-dollar views? Head up to Rainbow Room every Sunday from 11am to 3pm: Once you’ve had lobster béarnaise and Taittinger while grooving to the sounds of a live jazz ensemble and gazing out at the Manhattan skyline, you may have a tough time going back to your standard Benedict and Bloody. Or if you’d prefer to upgrade after-work drinks, check out Bar SixtyFive, a swanky terrace lounge perfect for sipping cocktails and noshing on bites like tuna tacos or churros while watching the sunset.
