"Whitewash"

When, last November, all 200,000 square feet of Long Island City graffiti mecca 5 Pointz was whitewashed overnight by the building’s owner, the overwhelming response among spray-painters and street-art appreciators was outrage. Nine graffiti artists and two photographers channel that emotion in this exhibit of work curated by Marie Cecile Flageul, one of the haven’s most vocal spokespeople.
