Hotel Savoy review
The Savoy's restaurant was ranked as one of the country's top ten in a recent survey, and its parent hotel rates just as highly. Stepping into the quietly dignified lobby, complete with its reading room and fireplace, it may seem hard to imagine stars such as Tina Turner and Princess Caroline of Monaco staying here; but it's a peaceful bastion of first-class service, with tasteful, modern rooms. The standard rooms are spacious, while the deluxe rooms almost qualify as suites (Sean Connery required the vast Presidential Suite during a two-month movie shoot). The concierge service is top-notch, and breakfast, a newspaper and a shoe-shine are included in the room rate.
