Time Out says

We were dreading to see this day come, but DECK has announced that it's officially closing its doors on April 4. While unfortunate, this definitely isn't a shock to the arts community. The news has been circulating for a while now.

In September last year, it was announced that DECK's iconic shipping container structure in Bras Basah would be demolished by March 2021. It then called out for community support to crowdfund a new and permanent building plan with the Save Deck Building Fund, which includes a series of limited edition tote bags featuring works by 15 local and international artists

Founded in 2013, DECK has been an incubator for talented photographers in Singapore. The independent art space is dedicated to nurturing photography enthusiasts in Singapore and Southeast Asia through events such as the Singapore International Photography Festival. Its current building has seen various emerging and established photographers walk through its doors.

House of Photography (HOP), a mobile analogue darkroom located in DECK's shipping container structure, has also said in a Facebook post that this will be your last chance to rent the darkroom to develop and print photos. So mark your calendars and make your way down for a final farewell. From March 20 to April 3, the public can also visit DECK daily from noon to 7pm for its last exhibition, Undescribed #6. The exhibition will end on April 3 instead of the original date, April 10.
