The US-based online platform has already been around for years, but its localised website just launched – and we’ve got a special offer for our readers. The concept is simple. All you have to do is sign up for an account, browse through hundreds of (mostly American) brands listed on the site, click on your favourite, and start shopping.
You’re basically going through Ebates to arrive at your usual retail sites. But this way, you’ll get a percentage of the purchasing price back, which will be credited back into your credit/debit card, added to your PayPal account, or mailed to you in a cheque.
Think of Ebates as a salesperson who earns money by leading you to those sites – that commission is then split with you, and you get a chunk of your cash back. The number can go up to 26 percent. Top brands listed include Rakuten, Ebay, Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, Shopbop, Nordstrom and Gap.
