Daily Beer – South Korea’s largest craft beer and fried chicken chain – is coming to Singapore this month. The brand has over 370 stores in Korea and is the country’s leading craft beer taproom. In just a couple of weeks, they will unveil their first South Korean outpost at the vibrant Telok Ayer district in Singapore, just across Amoy Street Food Centre.

The store’s name Daily Beer is a direct translation of “생활맥주”, which can also mean “life beer”. The chain is easily recognisable from the eye-catching “生活” (“life” in Mandarin) and “No Beer No Work” decals pasted on its shopfronts across Korea. Among their fans are celebrities like Xiumin of EXO, the cast of Running Man, actors Kim Da Mi and Cho Yeo Jeong, as well as Korean YouTubers like Pungja and Sanghaegi.

This year also marks the brand’s 10th anniversary. Since opening in 2014, Daily Beer has collaborated with over 50 local, small-batch Korean breweries to create unique, specialty craft beers. Just last year, it released a limited edition IPA in Seoul, brewed using wild yeast that was harvested from pine trees in Mount Namsan.

At its new Singapore branch, you can expect a range of seven craft beers exclusively produced in partnership with Korean breweries. These will all be served from the tap and in the brand’s iconic beer glasses. The Kampong Pilsner ($14) has a crisp, clean flavour perfect for pairing with fries, while the K-Festbier ($12) is a Marzen-style lager with sweet, caramel malt flavours ideal for pairing with sausages. There will also be Singapore-exclusive beers created together Brewerkz — the Telok Hazy IPA ($15), Telok Pale Ale ($14), and the K-Ginseng Lager ($13).

On top of that, the restaurant will also serve crowd-favourite dishes like its popular crispy fried chicken, tteokbokki, and golbaengi noodles – chewy noodles with marinated sea whelk. The signature Angry Bird fried chicken (from $27.90) comes in four flavours — spicy, sweet garlic with aged soy sauce, kimchi, as well as sweet and spicy corn flakes with garlic seasoning.

From now till April 30, the first 30 customers to visit Daily Beer after 5pm will get to redeem a free beer sampler. Time Out readers can also enjoy a beer sampler at $1 with any food purchase when you flash this article in the store.

Check out Daily Beer’s official website or Instagram page to find out more.

Daily Beer is open daily at 212 Telok Ayer Street.
