A big, new, nine-screen multiplex, the Scotiabank opened in 2005 with a rave review from U2 (who had been invited in to see a sneak preview of Kingdom of Heaven here). Centrally located, the cinema appears to have been built around its first-floor food court, serving the usual odiferous junk food; an appropriate venue in which to consume mainstream Hollywood blockbusters.

AWFUL SEATS! I was in theatre 8 watching a movie which was one week out and there was metal sticking out of the seats in the entire second row. Everyone around me was moving uncomfortably in their chairs for two hours and I could barely walk for the rest of the evening due to nerve pain in my posterior and down my legs. I complained and wanted to speak to the manager and was told there was no manager. The young man who I showed the seats asked, "What metal?" and I told him to actually feel the seats and to run his hand down every one in that row. They just said, "It's an old theatre.", which it is not.
