The elegant, snaking post-and-beam room of Bar None, Yaletown's most enduring It-spot, was converted from a warehouse in 1992. Ever since then the place has been luring transfixed punters (as the queues testify). But persevere and you'll soon hear why its reputation as a turntabler's destination has not diminished in the nearly two decades since it opened its doors. Soul, funk and vinyl in Monday's 'Soul Stream' compete with Zak Santiago's Saturday Miami beats, as hipper-than-thou patrons bump along, trying not to spill their drinks.
