Ovingham? Where’s that? Nowhere near Mumbai. Closer to Bowden, really. But the Ovingham Hotel has put a tonne of effort to transporting drinkers back to old India. Yeah, we know: theme pubs are sooo 2002, and indeed, the British Raj may not be a place in time that many Indians recall too favourably. But theme pubs are all about the look, and the BBC certainly pulls it off, with more elephant carvings and wicker than seems probable. They’ve got 100 beers and decent curries to boot.
