Time Out says

This perennially busy, early-opening bakehouse is a lynchpin of the King William Road foodie scene

Hyde Park Bakery is a contemporary, buzzy space with exposed sandstone down one flank and rather French-looking fleur-de-lis wallpaper down another, Conversation and coffee-machine buzz imbue the room with conviviality. Plentiful staff patrol the counter, plating up carrot cake, over-stuffed rolls and wraps, custard tarts, lamingtons and vast wheels of takeaway quiche to pram-pushing dads and wandering business bods. Older gents flip through The Advertiser; lunching ladies dissect local council issues… It’s all very agreeable in here, especially if you make it through the door before the pulled-pork brioche buns sell out. The huge glowing drinks fridge seems a concession to suburban norms, but hey, the iced coffee is perfectly chilled.
