We tried hard to dislike Jamie’s Italian – it’s all so successful and international and mainstream. But the truth is that Jamie’s does really good Italian, cooked with flair, respect for tradition and using ingredients grounded in a sense of place. What’s not to like? Jamie’s choice of Adelaide venue is outstanding – the lofty lobby of a beautiful old downtown tower, perfectly positioned for your imminent trip to the Adelaide Oval or the Festival Centre. The suits pile in at lunchtime, but kids are most welcome: mini-sized salmon fillets, chicken wraps, spaghetti with meatballs… and not a frozen Hawaiian pizza in sight.
