This all-day bistro from highly regarded chef Sean Connolly is a safe bet for fine food that’s a whole lot of fun
Sean’s Kitchen is technically part of Adelaide Casino – but don’t let that put you off. Sean Connolly’s stellar work at Astral in Sydney’s Star City casino earned him all kinds of accolades during the last decade. And in fact, you can almost forget the casino is even there: Sean’s occupies a side pocket of the vast complex, fronting onto Station Road with outdoor seating and an open-walled, NYC-style interior lined with subway tiles. ‘Finger and fork’ casual bites include soft-shell crab sandwiches and duck-liver parfait. A ‘Small Gatherings’ menu includes barbecue short ribs and a baked 700g sole to share. Chips come cooked in duck fat; mushrooms come, enticingly, in an ‘orgy’; and a bodacious ‘Kung Fu Mary’ (including a crisp spring roll) will kick that hangover for a six.
