Since 2006, Brian Shimkovitz's Awesome Tapes From Africa blog has been showcasing the extraordinary array of eclectic sounds from both Africa's past and present.
Using hand plucked tapes from the dusty market stalls from all expanses of the continent, his musical journey comes to life via dual cassette players mixing anything from hip-hop-influenced pop and Highlife to left-field dancefloor burners.
