Buoyancy, Trim & Propulsion Workshop says
What is buoyancy, how does buoyancy impact your diving experience and do you feel truly at ease underwater?

Buoyancy is a fundamental part of SCUBA and with the combination of proper trim (diver position) and efficient propulsion techniques you can take you’re diving to a new level of proficiency making you a better diver.

Mastering these skills can be very challenging but with some expert guidance this process can be made much simpler and most of all, a lot of FUN.

Adelaide Scuba has a firm belief that divers with good buoyancy, trim and propulsion techniques will have greater control over their diving whilst maximizing their experience with an increase in diver comfort and safety. With this in mind, Adelaide Scuba put an emphasis on buoyancy skills and awareness in every aspect of diver training exceeding the general expectations of SCUBA training.

In addition to enhancing the curriculum of our standard dive training programs, the team at Adelaide Scuba have developed the Buoyancy, Trim and Propulsion Techniques Workshop. We have built onto the basic concepts of buoyancy and extended it to encompass balance and trim in the water.

The purpose:
To help students and the general diving community feel truly at ease underwater, the program will examine the most efficient and comfortable position to assume while diving and how best to achieve it.

During the buoyancy, trim and propulsion techniques workshop you will:
Boost your understanding of the fundamentals of buoyancy and trim through both theoretical discussions and practical skill activities.
Develop the knowledge and skills needed to understand and control all nine directions of underwater movement via a series of propulsion techniques taught and practiced during the pool session.
Develop your environmental and situational awareness skills underwater.
Help you become entirely comfortable and efficient in water, reducing stress and enhancing the dive experience.

The process:
The workshops are designed to provide you with the tools (knowledge and skills) that you can then take with you and develop over subsequent dives and with your commitment to master these skills you have all the opportunities in hand for great success. The buoyancy, trim and propulsion techniques program includes a short theoretical presentation and discussion, land drill exercises and practical in water skills workshop.
