Format says
Format Systems presents: Deviate ::: a collaborative exhibition by South Australian artists Rhiannon Jones and Carly Snoswell.

Investigating the cause and effect of materiality and making through process-based sculpture, Snoswell and Jones employ methods that embrace the uncertainty and chance of repetition.
The two share the Format Gallery in an 'active' museum of investigation, sucess and failure.

.......

Rhiannon Jones:
Through an appreciation (and slightly overwhelming sense) of the time, rigor and fragility within the work, Rhiannon Jones encourages the viewer to seek a reason and understanding to the “how” and ‘why’ of its creation, whilst also being denied a logical answer. By creating these conflicts Jones hopes to encourage the viewer to mentally and physically engage/interact with their work and the space it occupies.

Carly Snoswell:
Carly Snoswell’s practice is defined by a constant state of making, accumulating prototypes during a preoccupied moment. By focusing solely on one action, and revealing as much of the making process as possible, Snoswell calls attention to the act of making. Utilising craft techniques and repetition as a release from anxiety, she creates her own form of meditation, a channel for unease generating unexpected results.

Opening 6pm Thursday, 7th July until 28th July.
Gallery hours: 12pm - 4pm weekdays
