Format says
Format Systems Inc. presents the first in an ongoing series of readings by local artists and writers.

McInerney's visual art practice centres around a combined application of the literary order of words and the sculptural order of physical materials, with the aim to manifest variations of a “third language” suspended between the two.

Influenced by the New York School of poetry, particularly Frank O’Hara, Ken Bolton’s poetry is personal, conversational, and occasionally nostalgic, drawing upon art history, literary, high and pop culture. Bolton is responsible for several poetry compilations, the regular Form Guide roundup of contemporary Adelaide art and the Lee Marvin series of poetry readings.

Mahoney is the Managing Direcor of Format Collective. His writing consists of a broad attempt to capture and distil the ephemera, metaphysics and emotive power of subcultural practice. He is the author of two books, the latest of which is a collaborative essay chronicling the development of the current exhibition at the Australian Experimental Art Foundation.

IDIOM continues 6pm every second Thursday // licensed bar // ten percent off all books and records // open discussion encouraged.
