The Mill says
Rick Martin was artist in residence at New Space Art Foundation in Hue, Vietnam in November/December 2015.

He made the installation QUIET inspired by Graham Greene's novel "The Quiet American".

Graham Greene wrote The Quiet American while staying in Room 214 at the InterContinental Hotel in Saigon ( now HoChiMinh City )

The book was published in 1955.

The photograph of his room and others from QUIET will be exhibited at the Mill from September 1 to September 29.

Martin's photographs "bear a certain resemblance to Edward Hopper's bleak landscapes of urban isolation with their carefully structured composition and eerie lighting" - Sylvia Hui, Weekend Standard, Hong Kong

When asked why he travelled Graham Greene replied "Ambiguity"
