A night of multi-disciplinary performance curated by Bella Hone-Saunders

SOPHIA SIMMONS is a recent graduate from Adelaide College of the Arts. She was the recipient of the 2013 Flinders University Young Playwright Award for her one-woman play ‘Brightness’ and was featured as an emerging writer in Homegrown as part of the National Play Festival last year. This year Sophia has been exploring performing her own writing.

TARA ROWHANI-FARID creates paintings that transition between objects and art objects, between works of art and works of labour. Labourers and tradespeople in their workplaces generally use the materials she uses, items such as rope, gap filler and builder’s film. She is currently exhbiting in WOR(K)SHIP at format systems inc.

LAUREN ABINERI is an emerging artist/writer/musician. Her arts practice currently revolves around on her hyperfemme alter-ego, JEM, taking on performance, experimental music and installation as ways of creating a space for the alterego to occur. Examining this alter-ego through a cyborg feminist lens, and in lieu of holographic technology, she imagines the alter-ego as technology and the consequences of putting it under different constraints within different mediums. She has exhibited at The Contemporary Art Centre of SA, Format, Paper
Mountain (WA) and Trocadero (VIC).

MARCUS LOUEND comes from a contemporary dance and performance background, which he explores through several mediums of performance and art.

DARIA H-K "I'm mostly comfortable with drawing and creating as a form of expression, writing is a foreign direction of self output. Writing usually comes about in times when my mental stability is vulnerable therefore it will often focus on self turmoil and fear. I cannot create art in times of mental exhaustion, so in the last year I have found writing to be a way of helping to silence my mind and I have used it as a form of catharsis time and time again."
