Austin Anarchist Black Cross says
As you can imagine, the holiday season can be a really rough time for folks inside prison. All too often our friends behind bars do not have family and friends to reach out to them with cards or visits, making this time particularly isolating. The cards you make bring moments of joy, connection and kindness to them while telling prison staff that people on the outside are watching.

I would like to invite you to a holiday card-making party for LGBTQ prisoners that ABC is hosting on Wednesday, Dec 9. This party is one of many happening all across the country as part of a national effort organized by Black & Pink.

The holidays can be a challenging and lonely time when you’re locked up and away from loved ones, so we'll be decorating and sending holiday cards to LGBTQ folks who are currently in prison - with a goal of sending 50 cards!! So we’d love to have your help!

There will be lots of snacks, drinks, and card-making supplies. We'll also have more info on ways that you can start find an LGBTQ prisoner penpal if you want. Please bring bring a friend or two, extra card making supplies (no glitter or glue please) and a donation to help pay for postage if possible.

Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly!

If you are not able to make it, please consider donating to Black & Pink today

Thank you!
