Enrique Valdivia has been a practicing attorney at Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid for 30 years, during which time he has represented the people of low income communities in battles against oil refineries, landfills, waste incinerators, uranium miners, lead smelters, and other polluters whose businesses create environmental hazards and toxic conditions for the people who live near them. He has served as an elected director on the Edwards Aquifer Authority for 8 years, where he now also serves as Secretary. Enrique has been active in the environmental movement, particularly aquifer protection, for many years, helping organize the fight against PGA Village in 2002, and serving on the boards of several environmental nonprofits, including: • Aquifer Guardians in Urban Areas (current) • Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance (current), Austin-based Texas Fund for Economic & Environmental Education (current) • Pittsburgh-based Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services (current) Help Enrique get elected to the city council of the nation’s 7th largest city so he can keep making a difference!
