The Mom Gallery is pleased to present 'Ducks Drop Like Rain', new work by Adam Boley. Boley is a MFA candidate at The University of Texas at Austin. The exhibition includes photography, sculptural objects, and video installation. This will be Boley’s first exhibition experimenting with video and sculpture.

Translating a particular subculture into an art form, Adam Boley uses a Black Cloud box of Federal Premium Ammunition as a primary influence for his up-and-coming solo show. “There’s a storm warning out for waterfowl, and it comes in the form of a Black Cloud.” These are the shells, the artist, has used on many recent duck hunts. From an early age, Boley learned how to hunt alongside his granddad and father. However, Boley’s work wears the weight of this controversial family tradition with an empathetic and critical outlook. Boley’s most recent work and upcoming solo exhibition at The Mom Gallery explores these strong Texan roots and the tradition of duck hunting through the use of appropriated images and personal experience.

Opening Reception: Friday, March 27th, 7-11pm
