It's donation time again :)

Join your friends in the Sacrifice of LENT, of Paring down our excesses.

Stripping away unneeded thing help remind us of our neediness. Go through your closet, drawers, car, etc., and pull out one item a day that you really don't need or haven't worn in a long time or really truly don't like. We all have something of this sort. Put it in a bag. On the 40th day join happy hour to drop off your items, good company and cocktails.

Let me know if you have any questions. Join this posting to stay tuned (and invite friends), I will schedule a meeting to drop off your items on the 40th day. All donations will go twords good cause for battered women and children that need at SAFE PLACE. I look forward to meeting you all again and see new loving faces :)

A little knowledge about what LENT is:

Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. Lent comes from the Anglo Saxon word lencten, which means "spring." The forty days represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness, enduring the temptation of Satan and preparing to begin his ministry.

Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination and reflection.

Sundays in Lent are not counted in the forty days because each Sunday represents a "mini-Easter" and the reverent spirit of Lent is tempered with joyful anticipation of the Resurrection.
