Tejas Coffee Featuring Kerry Awn Austin Muralist, Comedian & Actor

On behalf of the Tejas Club it is my honor to invite you to this week's Tejas Coffee featuring Kerry Awn. Please join us at 8:45PM for refreshments and good company to be followed by our speaker at 9:00PM sharp. Kerry Fitzgerald, widely known as Kerry Awn, is a notable Austin-based muralist, cartoonist, comedian, and musician. As a student at the University of Texas, Kerry Awn along with Tom Bauman and Rick Turner painted the Austintatious Mural in 1974 (located on the University Coop Wall at 23rd and Guadalupe), a mural landmark in Austin. A long career in comedy and acting, he has been named "Best Comic in Austin" for 11 years and was inducted into the Austin Arts Hall of Fame. Most recently, Kerry Awn along with Tom Bauman and Rick Turner fundraised and completed a much needed restoration of the 23rd street murals after age and vandalization. Tejas Coffees are the University's oldest distinguished speaker series hosted by the Club on Thursdays throughout the semester.
