TypeFight Live: Lucha de Letras An epic alphabetic competition where only one can emerge victorious. Just as SXSW rumbles back into town, AIGA Austin brings back their typography smackdown with "TypeFight Live: Lucha de Letras!" TypeFight is an epic alphabetic competition where only one can emerge victorious. Two designers face off in a full-scale wrestling ring as the crowd cheers and jeers, fighting for typographical glory in the Letter-Ring. Join us in the grandstands as Austin’s best keep it (mostly) above the belt, stay on the ropes, go down for the count, and block/duck/dodge to create the single best letterform as VOTED ON BY YOU, the audience. Come get a seat if you can, enjoy a few drinks, and egg on your favorite TypeFighter amidst all the howling excitement of hand-lettering, trash-talking, and luchadoresque pageantry. The fight will take place from 7:00 to 10:00, with voting beginning at 8:30. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Folding chairs may not be thrown but you can shake them in the air.
