Time Out says

While the foothills of the MacDonnell Ranges are home to many cute (and some rather creepy) creatures, you can get up close at one of Alice Springs’ many wildlife parks. For the most wholesome experience, head to The Kangaroo Sanctuary. You can join a guided sunset tour from Wednesday to Friday, and learn about their rescue and rehabilitation program for baby kangaroos who’ve lost their mothers.

The sanctuary has even inspired Australia’s newest family comedy, Kangaroo, which brings the story of Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns – the legendary founder of the baby kangaroo rescue centre established in 2005 – to the big screen. The film celebrates the real-life heroics of the sanctuary, showing how one person’s dedication to wildlife can touch countless lives—and perhaps make you a little teary-eyed along the way.
