Over the past decade, Aussies have ordered a whopping 123 million burgers and 69.8m pizzas on Uber Eats

It’s hard to remember life before Uber Eats – the days when you actually had to walk to your local café for your morning coffee or açai bowl, lug toilet paper home using raw muscle power, and couldn’t get a Bunnings barbecue delivered straight to your door! Reality check: Uber Eats has only been in Australia for ten years, but it’s now a lifeline in more than 120 cities and towns nationwide.
To celebrate its tenth anniversary in Australia, Uber Eats has cracked open a decade of delivery data to uncover how our eating and ordering habits have changed since 2016. Let’s dig in…
Burgers remain the undisputed king of doorstep drops, with Aussies ordering a whopping 123 million burgs over the last decade. Pizza claims the silver medal in 2026 with more than 69.8 million deliveries made, knocking Mediterranean food off the podium (it dominated in Uber Eats' early years).
Rounding out the top three in 2026 is Mexican cuisine, with more than 35 million meals ordered across the last ten years. American comfort food claimed fourth place, including chicken wings, barbecue ribs, fries and mozzarella sticks – think everything you need delivered straight to bed after a massive night out.
But it’s not all burgers and hangover cures. In 2024, Uber Eats expanded into tech, tools and household essentials. Australia’s most popular non-food items prove we’re a nation obsessed with cleaning, with biodegradable fragrance-free baby wipes, three-ply paper towels and antibacterial multi-purpose biodegradable wipes claiming the top three spots. That’s not to mention the 43 million toilet rolls and 67,872 bottles of bleach toilet gel we’ve been too lazy to pick up in person.
So, what’s in store for the next decade of Uber Eats? Robot delivery drivers, AI food concierges and an e-bike boom – only time (and our late-night cravings) will tell.
