They say nature is the best medicine, but we’d argue a country escape has the same positive effects. The streets are quieter, the bakeries are cuter, the air is crisper and the green fields offer a welcome break from the city’s concrete. If you’re now craving a country getaway, timing is on your side. Qantas has just launched a domestic flight sale to 56 regional destinations, including Port Lincoln, Bendigo, Broken Hill, Devonport and other places you’ve probably never heard of – with fares from $99.

It’s been 25 years since Qantas began flying regionally in Australia, and to mark the occasion, they’re treating us to hundreds of thousands of discounted seats. The anniversary sale kicks off today and runs until 11.59pm (AEST) on Tuesday, May 24, unless sold out prior. You'll have plenty of time to plan your getaway too, with travel dates spanning from July 2026 to April 2027.

With more than 50 destinations on offer, your biggest challenge will be choosing where in Australia to go. The most affordable one-way fares start at $99, including from Adelaide to Port Lincoln, Whyalla or Kangaroo Island. Sure, it might not be quite as cheap as Jetstar, but checked baggage, complimentary meals and beverages are all included. Worth it!

There are almost 170,000 seats available for $125 or less, making it the perfect excuse to finally tick off quieter spots like Albury, Dubbo, Devonport and Geraldton. Or maybe it’s time to finally find out what the heck goes on in Kalgoorlie, Bundaberg, Mildura and Broken Hill – let alone, where they are on a map!

Qantas’ birthday sale goes both ways, so those living regionally and craving a city break can score discounted flights straight to most Aussie capitals. You can explore more sale destinations on the Qantas website here.
