They say the best things in life are worth waiting for, and Australia’s newest multi-day hike is the ultimate proof. Following more than a decade of planning and a $25 million investment, the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuta Signature Walk has officially launched in Central Australia. This fully guided, five-day journey stands as the nation’s most culturally significant trek, marking the first time walkers can sleep inside the World Heritage-listed Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park.

Developed by the award-winning Tasmanian Walking Company, this landmark experience was created in deep collaboration with the Aṉangu Traditional Owners, the custodians of this land for more than 30,000 years.

“Millions have stood before Uluṟu, but few have been invited by Aṉangu Owners to move through its landscape like this,” said Tasmanian Walking Company’s co-owner Brett Godfrey.

Spanning 54 kilometres – including 38km of newly mapped trails – the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa Signature Walk offers an incredible new way to experience two of Australia’s most iconic landmarks. The journey begins at the base of the towering Kata Tjuṯa domes, leading hikers through a sacred 500-million-year-old landscape. Along the way, trekkers will traverse desert trails, native mulga woodlands and cresting red dunes before reaching the final destination: Uluṟu.

What makes this experience extra special is the rare chance to connect with Country through guided walks, deep cultural storytelling and immersive experiences led by Aṉangu Traditional Owners. The all-inclusive experience for up to 14 guests also includes chef-prepared meals featuring native ingredients, and exclusive, eco-sensitive accommodation in camps and lodges.
