This exhibition connects the works and personalities of Josefa Tolrà and Joan Brossa from pieces and drawings, some never before seen. The creative relationship between the medium Tolrà and the poet Brossa, who met through Dau al Set (the artistic movement in Catalonia Brossa founded in Barcelona in 1948), and their mutual admiration are examined: Brossa acquired three drawings from Tolrà (which are today at the MACBA) and spoke of his fascination with her in a documentary film. Tolrà said to Brossa, 'You, kid, you are next to God. But you have your back turned...'.
The exhibition, curated by Pilar Bonet and Sandra Martínez, is distributed in different areas: the Beyond talks about the role that the voice and the supernatural universe played in the trajectory of the two artists; the Universe features references to cartography and journeys; and Utopia, or the space for freedom, evokes folklore, homeland and kinship.
