HOP Festival 2017: Autarcie

The Mercat de las Flors once again hosts the HOP Festival, a project supported by the Asociación El Generador, Arte y Creación Cultural, which, since 2011, has been fostering the creation of contemporary urban dances for the stage. The HOP is a platform for research, creation, exhibition and dissemination that those involved in urban dance can use as a meeting point and resource to develop and perform their work. The festival kicks off with 'Autarcie', a strategy game from French company Par Terre, with choreography by Anne Nguyen, where four warrior figures take part in a wild ritual. With break, popping and waacking, each figure makes for a strong personality and they're in this game of power together, playing for territory, alliances and hierarchy.
